What’s better than one handsome, educated black man? Two handsome, educated black men.
That’s exactly what twins Darion and Varion Walton are, having recently graduated from Sam Houston State University in Texas, both with an MBA in Business Administration.
The pair graduated at the same time, two years earlier than the average student.
Once they got out of high school, the two ambitious young men worked four jobs while completing 18-credit hour course schedules at Navarro College. Both excelled academically, and served as school ambassadors, resident advisors, peer mentors, and interns at the student center. Despite their hectic work and study schedule, they both graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2013.
Dr. Tommy Stringer, former instructor and administrator at Navarro College, praised the twins. He told Michael Baisden,
“It was obvious when Darion and Varion first came to campus for their interview for the Opening Doors to Success scholarship that they were special. They had an immediate impact on campus life. Not only did they excel in the classroom, but they were among the most visible students on campus. They were not only members of multiple organizations, but they held leadership positions in those groups.”
Upon graduating from Navarro College, the Walton brothers enrolled in the MBA program at Sam Houston State University in 2014. They credit their success to staying focused, not bending under peer pressure, and maintaining a close relationship with God.
Did we mention that they have dimples, too? They’ll certainly be receiving their fair share of attention from the ladies!
